It's only a matter of time before Stane finds it, and Tony needs a plan fast. Enlisting the help of his friends, Tony needs to find a way to break into Stark International, get the armor, and get out before Stane notices -- and without anyone realizing that Iron Man and Tony are one and the same.

Review:
In past reviews, I’ve complained about teen hero clichés. For example, in “Meltdown” we had kids quoting ironic passages of Shakespeare.

Spectacular Spider-Man did something similar in “Subtext.” I’m not saying that Iron Man copied Spider-Man, but this is a common motif—just like the party in “Cold War” or the science project of “Crimson Dynamo.”

So, to be fair, I have to give the writers credit for “Field Trip.” It takes a teen hero concept (the titular field trip) and applies it in a way that only Iron Man could.

Tony Stark sneaks into Stark International to search his father’s old vault. His armor malfunctions in the vault, so he has to abandon it.

Pepper Potts, James Rhodes and Tony arrange a field trip to Stark International to recover the armor.

There’s some fun Ocean’s 13-style breaking and entering in “Field Trip.” The script also finds a nice way to incorporate Gene Khan, Happy Hogan, Whitney Stane and Stark’s erstwhile secretary, Tricia.

It’s enough fun that even the presence of buzzkill villain Obadiah Stane cannot ruin it.
