INTRODUCING...TURTLES FOREVER!
2009 saw the 25th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, celebrating
25 years as some of the biggest characters in pop culture. Amidst a flurry of home video releases and events, a
special television project was also created to give these beloved characters their proper due - an all-new
animated movie celebrating this special year-long event - Turtles Forever!
Turtles Forever is a direct-to-DVD/made-for-tv animated movie produced by 4Kids Entertainment, the
movie teaming different incarnations of the titular heroes — chiefly the light-hearted,
child-friendly characters from the 1987 animated series and the darker cast of the 2003 4Kids
animated series — in an adventure that spans multiple parallel universes.
It also marks the finale of both the 1987 and 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated shows,
and effectively brought an end to the first 25 years
of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The movie aired on TV on The CW4Kids station on November 21st, 2009, and was then released to home video
on August 24th, 2010 from Paramount Home Entertainment.
Turtles Forever was directed by Roy Burdine and Lloyd Goldfine, produced by Lloyd Goldfine and Gary
Richardson and Federick U. Fierst and Alfred R. Kahn and Norman J. Grossfield, and written by Rob David and Matthew Drdek
and Lloyd Goldfine. Naturally, the story was inspired by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird.
