Episode #46 - Phantom From The Depths Of Time

Responding to a mysterious plea for help, Spider-Man journeys to a remote island where he finds the tyrannical Phantom forcing the island's inhabitants to do his bidding.

Review:

This episode is famously one of two 1967 Spider-Man episodes that were adapted from Krantz Films' concurrent Rocket Robin Hood science-fiction show. Incidentally, this is also the first of a few episodes in which only Spider-man is seen, with no sign of Peter Parker.

What can I say? With this episode's plot and animation being taken from another, totally unrelated show, Spider-Man just seems totally out of place. This Phantom (as opposed to the first season one), while having a distinctive insectoid look, doesn't particularly act originally.

Spider-Man and a space-age Rocket Robin Hood story just don't mix easily.
