Nick Fury is the head of SHIELD, a top-secret peace keeping group designed to “keep the world in one piece”.
Spider-Man first encountered Nick Fury when Peter Parker and J. Jonah Jameson were abducted, when Fury needed Jameson’s
help to catch The Chameleon.
They met several times again afterwards, when The Cat was abducted from SHIELD’s prison, and when Electro took control
of New York City’s power supply. Electro eventually toppled SHIELD, and Spider-Man and Nick Fury never crossed paths
again.
Nick Fury was one of the only other crime fighters that was appreciative of Spider-Man’s efforts.
