Often acting as the unofficial leader of the New Recruits, Iceman was the king of playing it cool and goofing off. Refusing to take classes and many of his orders seriously, Bobby was often on the receiving end of Wolverine and Beast’s wrath in hopes of getting him to tone it down a little. None more so than the time he took both the X-Van and the X-Jet out for a spin and caused considerable damage to both vehicles.
Possessing the ability to create and control ice, Bobby later proved himself to be a very valuable member of the team, practically upgrading himself to a full fledge X-Man rather than a New Recruit.
