Kelly took over as Principal of Bayville High after Mystique left. Unfortunately, his first day was marred with much controversy as The Brotherhood caused a massive riot. Xavier wiped the occasion from everyone’s minds, but wasn’t sure if he reached Kelly before he passed out.
When mutants finally were revealed, Kelly did his all to make life miserable for the mutants in Bayville, branding them too dangerous to be schooled with normal people. He later ran for Mayor, again using his anti mutant campaign in hopes of swaying the voters who also believed that mutants where a threat.
