Review: Part 2 is undoubtedly the strongest entry in Beyond Good And Evil. This was helped in no small part by Angel’s return, and better yet, he was wearing his awesome suit from the comics. I’ve always liked Angel, and found it unfortunate that he never was a full member in either of The X-Men shows. Ironically enough, both show’s hinted towards Angel joining them after the show ended.

This episode introduced Psylocke, who I’ve never really cared for, but she proved to be interesting enough here. I thought they found a fitting voice for the character here, her chemistry with Angel was great and it was a great nod to the fans of the comics. Despite my limited knowledge of the comics, I can appreciate that your hardcore X-Men fan could utterly adore this show.

One of the more annoying aspects of this story was that they recast Magneto. There was nothing wrong with his replacement per se, other than the fact he wasn’t David Hemblen. Hemblen was absolutely awesome as Magneto, one of the show’s finest voices, and his replacement here was odd. He’d reprise his role as Magneto in later episodes, thankfully.

The fight in Psylocke’s hideout was well staged, despite the usual Wolverine/Sabertooth wrestling, and both Sabertooth and Magneto’s entrances were fine examples of great storyboarding.

This episode was simply fun throughout, although slightly detracting from the main story, it’s easily the best of the Beyond Good And Evil saga.
