Episode #47 - Weapon X, Lies And Videotape
Music Composed By: Shuki Levy Animation Services By: AKOM Review: This episode delves into Wolverine’s past a little more, and does a fine job explaining how badly the Weapon X program messed him up. It also explains his connections to Sabertooth, and finally reveals just who those 2 people are whenever you see the flashbacks to those days. Maverick came across as pretty cool, but Silver Fox was annoying as hell. Her attitude, her voice, she was constantly irritating throughout the episode.Silver Fox wasn’t the only thing messed up about the episode. AKOM strike again in one scene, in which Wolverine and Sabertooth lip sync each other, with Sabertooth’s mouth moving whilst Logan talks and vice versa. Really odd to look at, but thankfully, it only lasted a couple of seconds. The origin here is very streamlined compared to the comics, thankfully. It’s become quite a mess in the comics, with different writers constantly adding to it usually taking away it’s great history, but they managed to answer a lot of questions here, yet raise more as to not take away it’s mysterious nature. I’ve often thought of how cool it’d be to see a Wolverine animated series, hell, based on the events of this episode and Repo Man alone, a prequel would’ve been awesome to see. It’s animated slightly better than most X-Men episode, and is defiantly a cut above the majority of them, but ultimately, it leaves the viewer in the same place they where before they watched the episode. Some things changed certainly, but the new secrets revealed left the viewer with the same questions. This is probably why I rate the episode so highly, as I think Weapon X works better as a mystery rather than a full story. Screenshots: |
