Alpha Flight is a group of mutants set up by the Canadian Government with hopes that they could become the Canadian equivalent of The Avengers. Wolverine once worked with them before he became tried of being used as their weapon.
After one of it’s members, Heather, pleaded with him to return to Canada, only to realise he’d been set up. Alpha Flight had tried numerous times to duplicate the Weapon X program with unsuccessful results, so they decided to learn from the source and discover how Wolverine managed to survive the procedure.
Upon realising that their tests weren’t coming up with any results they could use, Heather demanded they stop conducting them, as it was hurting Wolverine. After an argument, Wolverine broke free, and left, telling Alpha Flight to never come after him again.
