Best known for his roles in AMC's "The Walking Dead" and the film "Boondock Saints," Reedus added some grit to Iron Man's usually more shiny world as Marvel's toughest vigilante. When asked why he took on this task, Reedus says it was for his son, who happens to be a fan of super heroes and villains alike.

"I have a 13-year old son and thought it would be fun," he explains. "[Punisher] was always [one of my favorites] of the comic book dudes. He seems darker, and has more attitude and mystery. I thought I could add a little something to it [since] I've seen comic books with the Punisher in them before so I kind of knew what he was about."

Punisher fans understand how ruthless Frank Castle can get when it comes to fighting. At the same time, Reedus exudes a type of toughness in his characters, although the actor himself doesn't share the same type of darkness.

"I'm kind of a wimp," the actor confesses. "I'm not nearly like the Punisher, Daryl or Murphy...but it's fun to put that character on and play with it. You can see the guy brooding and he's got this whole dark thing about him."

Every actor has their own method for voice acting and how they portray their characters, and Reedus found his challenge dealt more with steering away from Daryl Dixon's Southern accent in "The Walking Dead."

"It's funny...when we started [recording], I kept doing [Punisher's voice] with a Southern accent because I was doing the Daryl thing at the same time," recalls Reedus. "I tried not to make him sound too much like Daryl."

Although Reedus previously contributed his vocal talents in a video game before, "Iron Man: Rise of Technovore" marks his first anime gig, which has its differences.

"You don't have anything to look at [on the video game]," the actor describes. "You have a couple [of] guys in a room next to you describing the scene, [and you] have to imagine it. With Punisher, I could see the [anime] play and I could see his body language. You get what he sounds like by watching him or screen or you can create it yourself."

While Reedus sees himself doing more acting than voiceover work, he doesn't seem all that opposed if the opportunities present themselves either.

"They're fun. I seriously doubt [voiceover work] will be my only job, but it's fun to do. It's nice bringing these characters to life."
